Theurel & Thomas is a wonderful macaron pâtisserie in San Pedro, Mexico. Such a clean white palate with all colour coming from the hero product - the macarons of course! Anagrama was responsible for the store design as well as the simple yet stunning graphics, branding and packaging.
I was catching up on The Design Files latest posts and came across a photo of these fab wire pendant lights. I had seen a similar light a while ago from a UK supplier so I was quite happy to find these similar fittings locally made (& a lot cheaper!) at Lightly.
They aslo have some beautiful lasercut acrylic pendants & other great homewares.

Great example of a climate-friendly, energy efficient house by Guz Architects in Singapore. The architects say the design gives the residents an ocean view from every room as well as efficient cross ventilation. Their aim was to create a residence with seamless integration of the surrounding environment.
Sydney Design Festival kicked off yesterday, I checked out this great little exhibition at Euroluce (Hill St, Surry Hills) featuring "Sarah and Emma Elizabeth Go Boating".
Sarah K (from Blakebrough + King) and Emma Elizabeth Coffey (Emma Elizabeth Designs) have collaborated to produce an ‘alternate reality’ tear in the fabric of the Sydney Light Studio to reveal their most recent work, captured at a sinister moment.
Sarah and Emma Elizabeth Go Boating is based on the 1974 classic French film, Celine and Julie Go Boating. In this film an alternate reality is depicted, accessible to the characters only by eating a white candy. Through putting this mysterious sugar sweet in their mouths the heroines, Celine and Julie, are able to re-enter and re-construct the events of this alternate universe.
Across the street at the Beresford Hotel is Emma Elizabeth's Design Vlog - a great new concept bringing the latest in design trends from around the world in a video blog (ie. a vlog!) to us loyal design followers instantly!
An eclectic and exclusive selection of international designers and brands will also be premiered in the space.

Parisian architect Pascal Grasso, commissioned by Electrolux, has designed a temporary, transportable restaurant on the roof of Le Palais de Tokyo museum in Paris. The glass box with perforated metal cladding is even more eye-catching at night through the use of colour changing LED lights. Book in with your 11 closest friends for a dinner to remember! Truly Amazing.
The Stylecraft showrooms around Australia have been celebrating 10/10 this month – 10 years of Stylecraft being the Australian distributor of the amazing furniture that is Arper.
Showcasing the signature Arper pieces, plus the new range for 2010, the showroom looked amazing with great signage & graphics by Surry Hills company There. A delicious lunch (Italian style of course) plus a glass of red, made for a great Friday afternoon!
Sydney designer Josh Goot has opened a great temporary store on Oxford Street featuring pieces from his latest collection as well as past collections.
Based on the theme of the A/W 2009 collection: Stone.... think gravel scattered on the floor, a large chunk of concrete in the window and a large scale projection of abstract images of various formations make you wish this store was around for longer than just four days!

Stella McCartney is the latest designer to venture into the popular pop-up store trend with a great concept recently popping up in Galleries Lafayette, Paris. Her designer, Giles Miller, has created a high-impact store with 2 metre high 3D cardboard letters featuring gold leaf edging. The cardboard cubes made by laminating corrugated cardboard in different directions and slicing through the layers resulting in a textured checkerboard pattern. The pop-up will soon move to Selfridges in London, where it will be on show for the two weeks.
